A Dhaka University employee was shot at the Janata Bank's Dhaka Medical College Hospital Branch when a security guard fired his rifle accidentally yesterday.

The injured was identified as Zakir Hossain, 40, a peon of Fazlul Haque Hall of Dhaka University. He went to the bank to withdraw money around 2:00pm, injured Zakir said.

The bullet suddenly hit Zakir's left hand while he was in the queue to withdraw the money. He was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
