Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is all set to turn a crooner.

She has landed a deal to come out with her firstinternational music album and is excited as well as nervous that her cherished dream is now coming true.

"It's finally happened. Big day for me guys... goin nuts!! Just signed a recording deal to release my debut international music album. I've signed a global recording deal with Universal Music Group (UMG) & Desi Hits! The album will be in English and will have a worldwide release," Priyanka said

on micro-blogging site Twitter.

"I've already started working on the album. It's scary but so very exciting," said the former Miss Universe who is a trained classical singer.

Music is in Priyanka's genes as her father Dr. Ashok Chopra is a trained singer and has enthralled audiences with his Mohammad Rafi songs on a number of occasions.

"Music has always been a passion and now I have been given the opportunity to share it with the world," Priyanka said.

"A long cherished dream is now taking flight and I am so very excited!" said the actress effusively.

Congratulatory messages and best wishes are pouring in for Priyanka for her planned debut as a singer. Among those who wished her are actors Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Lara Dutta, actor-director-singer Farhan Akhtar and music director-singer Salim Merchant.
